Our Symptom Relief Chart

This infomation was collected during a 7 year observational study in Israel, measuring the effectiveness of Tikun Olam strains in the treatment of specific conditions and ailments of a select group of patients.

The strains are listed in order of reported symptom relief. Individual results may vary. Please note that these study results should serve as a guide, but not replace expert medical advice. Patients should consult with their physician prior to starting a new therapy, especially when combining with other medications.

 Cannabis Education FAQs

  • Absolutely not. THC is the psychoactive component in cannabis, which is responsible for that ''high'' feeling. But not every strain contains enough THC to produce an intoxicating effect. For example, Tikun's Avidekel strain contains <1% THC, which means you feel symptom relief without the ''highโ€. Additionally, CBD is known to counteract the psychoactive effects of THC, so a strain like Midnight, which has an equal ratio of CBD & THC, will provide a nice balanced feeling.

  • Micro-dosing is one of the most effective strategies to prevent overconsumption. However, if you find yourself in this situation, it's important to remember that there is no known lethal dose of cannabis. The feeling is only temporary, and you will return to normal after your body processes the substance; you will be okay! A few common methods to help ease unwanted side effects:

โ€ขDrink water to relieve dry mouth. Avoid coffee & alcohol.

โ€ขTalk to a friend or loved one about your experience.

โ€ขBreathe: take deep breaths to ease the nervous system.

  • As always, ask your doctor what dose they recommend for you. For the best results, we generally recommend you start with the lowest dose possible, so that you experience relief without unwanted side effects (such as feeling intoxicated or dizzy). This method is sometimes referred to as "micro-dosingโ€. If you are using an electronic vaporizer, try taking one or two puffs to start. If you are ingesting an oil or edible, you may want to start with 5-10 mg. Once the medicine takes effect, notice how you feel and consult with your doctor about whether or not to increase the dosage and/or frequency. The best method to avoid overconsumption is to start low and slow, and track your experience by recording strain and dosage.

  • THC and CBD are cannabinoids.

Cannabis is made up of hundreds of compounds called cannabinoids. Each of these compounds have various therapeutic effects on the body and mind. When cannabinoids enter the body, they bind to the receptors in your endocannabinoid system, creating a host of healing benefits and bringing the body back into balance.

The endocannabinoid system helps regulate most major systems, functions, and responses of the body, including pain, inflammation, appetite, memory, mood, the immune system, and the gastrointestinal system.

  • Terpenes are flavorful and aromatic compounds that give all plants their unique smell and taste. The terpenes in cannabis work harmoniously with cannabinoids, adding to the therapeutic benefits of each strain. Understanding terpenes will help you choose cannabis strains that will aid in treating your specific concerns.

  • Depending on your familiarity with cannabis, your reason for use, and your doctorโ€™s recommendation, the way you choose to medicate will vary. The choice between different product types can be overwhelming. Reference the table below for guidance choosing the cannabis delivery method that is right for you.
