Are your eyes looking a little hazy after a medicating session? Stop blaming the smoke in the air, it’s actually due to the THC itself! 🍃💨This week, Alex is talking about vasodilation, which you may experience as red eyes as a side effect of using cannabis. This reaction, causing a decrease in blood pressure, is the reason cannabis is an effective treatment for glaucoma. If you want to get rid of the redness in your eyes, over-the-counter eye drops can reverse the dilated blood vessels causing such an effect. However, prolonged use of tetryzoline, the active ingredient that causes the blood vessels to constrict, can weaken the eyes’ natural ability to control their vascular pressure. This may actually result in longer-term increased redness in the eyes! As always, read the manual that comes with your drops, and when in doubt, ask a medical professional.

Strain names may change, but chemotypes and chemovars are forever 🙌 How can you be sure the products you buy are actually the strains they say they are? We’ve talked about the 5 cannabis chemotypes, but let’s look at chemovars. When we classify by chemotypes, we only take cannabinoid content into consideration. Chemovars, however, look at both the cannabinoid and terpene profiles. Using both chemotypes and chemovars to classify cannabis allows us to understand our products and their effects way better than a long-winded strain name would.Have you ever tried the “same” strain, but had totally different experiences?
